New Mask Guidelines
The YMCA of Greensboro is dedicated to the safety and health of our members, our staff and our entire community. Since the onset of COVID-19 in our community, our Y has continually adapted programming and protocols to go above and beyond in keeping you safe.
We follow the latest CDC and NCDHHS guidelines that now ease many mask restrictions and social distancing protocols. This is a welcome sign that our community is making great strides to a safe, new normal.
- Beginning May 14, YMCA of Greensboro indoor centers will no longer require masks for fully vaccinated adults in or outside our facilities, including wellness centers, group exercise classes, pool decks and locker rooms. Fully vaccinated is defined as 14 days following the second dose of a Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, or 14 days following the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
- Individuals who are not fully vaccinated are highly recommended to continue wearing masks and physical distancing.
- Any staff, YMCA members, participants and guests are welcome to continue wearing a mask if they feel more comfortable doing so.
- As recommended by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, masks and physical distancing continue to be required indoors for staff and participants in childcare settings, including daycare, afterschool, day camp and overnight camp. Staff in childcare settings will continue to wear a mask until further public health guidance is issued.
Thank you for joining the YMCA of Greensboro in keeping the community safe. Most of all, thank you for being a part of the YMCA.
