We know wellness involves more than working out. The Y offers several wellness programs throughout the year to come alongside you and your wellness journey.

Whether you’re looking to lose weight, get stronger, eat healthier, fight disease, improve your energy or lower stress, we have people and programs in place to help. We offer a variety of fun, high-quality programs that are included in your Y membership or require an additional fee.

For more than 130 years, the Y has served as a nonprofit leader and partner in community health, delivering evidence-based health programs and interventions that benefit vulnerable populations and those managing the life-altering effects of chronic disease.

Exercise for Your Soul

Senior Strength and Balance Small Group Training

If your goals include balance and strength training, this one’s for you! This Small
Group Training program is led by NASM-certified personal trainer and group exercise
instructor Mo Summers.

Each session is designed for health seekers seeking personalized and effective guidance in their fitness routines. Unlike Bootcamp, Small Group Training sessions improve your fitness through personal attention and tailored exercise, and they are designed to help you achieve maximum results and avoid injury.

Each session will include a health education, goal-setting, and more! This program is designed for seniors, but all ages/abilities are welcome!

Process and Honor Policy

  • Email your weekly mileage to [email protected].
  • Run/Walk: Treadmill, outdoor track, elliptical, or complete anywhere in the
    world
  • Swim: Laps in the YMCA pool (36 full-length laps=1 mile OR 72 shallow
    end laps=1mile) or complete anywhere in the world
  • Cycle: Recumbent bike, upright bike, cycle, or complete anywhere in the
    world

Make the miles count! Choose to run or walk 20 miles, swim 5 miles or cycle 60 miles between January 1 to 20. Participants who complete this challenge will receive a YMCA water bottle, and the top two from each category with the longest overall distances will each receive a YMCA t-shirt. Winners will be announced the week of January 21.
